Skittles Purton Evening 2015/16

Purton evening WI skittles are an enthusiastic group with about 14 members.

We normally meet the 2nd Tuesday in the month at The Red House Club, Purton,

We practise among ourselves, as well as taking part in the Federation league each year.

This year Purton evening are looking forward to playing the following teams in the skittles league:

Bishopstone

Green Meadow A and B teams

Update MAY 2016, we have made it to the  finals !! 

Skittles, quarter  finals , Tuesday 3rd  May at Bromham

We  played our quarter final against  New Sarum WI,and after a really friendly match we won 4-2

Semi final and final  Tuesday 17th of May.

In the semi final we played Boxlea and the result was a draw. We therefore had to have another leg, where we played using only one ball for each player. This suggestion was made last year by one of our players; Miriam and adopted by the Wiltshire Federation. We were fortunate to win this leg and therefore a place in the final.

In the final we played Cherhill and after another very good game we lost in the final by just 12 pins !!

Congratulations to Cherhill WI, for winning the cup this year.

It was a very enjoyable evening , we must remember we were the runners up, after having 47 other teams taking part in the 2015/16 league for Wiltshire.

So well done to all our skittles ladies this year.
